Duane Dickens
Family Faith Community
He is the son of Charles Dickens (deceased) and Kathryn Dickens and was raised in a loving, close-knit home in West Dayton’s Miami Chapel neighborhood, where education, faith, and perseverance were foundational values. Inspired by compassionate teachers and his great-aunt, pioneering physician Dr. Helen O. Dickens, he developed a passion for science and medicine that led him to earn a BS in Biology from the University of Notre Dame and an MD from Howard University. He has devoted more than 35 years to serving the community where he was raised and hopes his legacy will be one of long-standing service, compassion, and leadership in reducing health disparities in West and Northwest Dayton, while being most proud of his children, Cameron and Camille.
